Thrasher, Post 93 slam Medfield

Top Headlines With the score 7-4 and the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Thrasher smacked a grand slam to bring the score to 11-4 and effectively end the game. "When that happened [Medfield] just collapsed," said Foxboro coach Paul Dumas. "They gave up." Thrasher finished the game 2-for-2, with two walks, two runs scored and five RBI. The top of Foxboro's order did a great job setting the table for the big bats. Joe Nixon reached base three times and scored each time due to some aggressive baserunning. Teammate Anthony Pignone also reached base three times and scored three runs. Chuck Erickson took advantage of his teammates' ability to get on base, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored. Billy McGee rounded out the solid offensive performances by Post 93, reaching base four times and scoring two runs. On the hill, Joe Swindells picked up the win for Foxboro, pitching five innings and allowing four runs, just two of them earned. Swindells allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out five. Ben Hastings finished the game for Foxboro, pitching the sixth inning and striking out two. Foxboro (5-3-2) will take on Norwood tonight at 7:30 at Balch Field in Norwood.
