North alumni honorees include educators, lawyer
Top Headlines The banquet will be held at Leona's Restaurant on Kelley Boulevard. Tickets, which include dinner, are $40 and can be purchased at the high school main office, or online by downloading an order form at NAHSAlumni.org. Other honorees at the banquet will be: Thomas Grant, a 1987 graduate and an international lawyer and fellow of Wolfson College and the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at Cambridge University; and Dennis Redding, a 1958 graduate, retired Air Force colonel and former coordinator of football officiating for the Eastern College Athletic Conference, who will receive the Joseph W. Martin Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award. Rus Benson, former English teacher; Martha Frutchey, former history teacher; Peter Johnson, former guidance department head; William Kelly, former superintendent of schools; and Paul Sullivan, former history teacher and the high school's current director of athletics, will receive the Educator Excellence Award. Janet Barber, who served for 14 years as secretary to former Principal Wilson Whitty, and Dr. Daniel DeYoung, who volunteered for 33 years as the high school football team physician, will receive the Honorary Alumni Award for their contributions to the high school community.
