COA offers aid to seniors




The Attleboro Council on Aging is offering programs and assistance to seniors on the federal stimulus rebate program.

Representatives of the council will be available to assist seniors at various housing complexes on specific dates. The schedule is: Oakhurst, Thursday, April 3, 11 a.m.; Maple Terrace, Thursday, April 3, 1:30 p.m.; Hebron Mills, Thursday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Gardner Terrace, Thursday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Brookside, Thursday, April 24, 11 a.m.; River Court, Thursday, April 24, 1:30 p.m.; Hope Gardens, Thursday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Council on Aging will also sponsor a talk by AARP income tax volunteers on Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at the Larson Senior Center on South Main Street. To register, call the center at 508-223-2235.

The outreach department of the Council on Aging is available to help seniors. Call the center and speak to Melissa Tucker at ext. 23, or Kathy Levin at ext. 24.

The deadline for filing a federal income tax form to qualify for the rebate is Oct. 15.
